CANADA

The Provincial Sales Tax (PST) for Nova Scotia decreased from 10% to 9% effective April 1st.

CALIFORNIA

California voters approved the district tax changes listed below in the November 2024 election. These rate changes are the result of new citywide and/or countywide district taxes. Additionally, voters in certain areas have extended citywide district taxes that were set to expire.

    • The town of Erath passed a new (.50%) half-cent sales & use tax rate increase 
    • A tax rate increase due to the annex of Roseland into Fire Protection District #1
    • A new City of Franklin and Town of Baldwin tax levy,
    • A local rate increase for Mer Rouge
    • A new University of Louisiana at Lafayette EDD

      • Jeanerette in Iberia co. 9.75%
      • New Iberia in Iberia co. 10.25%
      • Livonia in Pointe Coupee co. 10.25%

    MINNESOTA

    There are 13 new .5% tax rate increases:

    MISSOURI

    • Andrew County new 0.5% sales and use
    • Mercer County new 1% sales and use
    • Ralls County ESD 0.65% sales and use county-wide
    • Browning new 1% and repealed 1% for sales and use, rate stays the same 8.975% total
    • Golden City use tax 1.875%
    • Morrisville 0.5% sales and use
    • Portageville expired 0.5% city sales tax
    • Springfield expired 0.75% and new 0.75% sales and use, rate stays the same 8.1%/6.35%
    • Theodosia new use tax 1.5%
    • Camden county ambulance district 0.5% sales tax for Camdenton, Linn Creek, Montreal, Osceola Township, Roach and Stoutland in Camden county
    • North Harrison Fire Protection District new 0.5% for uninc Harrison county and cities of Eagleville, Blythedale, Hatfield
    • Marshall Municipal Library District new 0.25% for city of Marshall

    NEBRASKA

    Rulo, Shickley, and Thedford will each impose a new tax at a 1% rate;

    • Curtis and Eustis will each increase their rate from 1% to 1.5%;
    • Friend, Mullen and Norfolk will each increase their rate from 1.5% to 2%

    NEW MEXICO

    CORRECTIONS:

      • Ranchos de Taos in Taos County Water & Sanitation District: Total 7.75%
      • Las Cruces city: 8.065%

    NORTH DAKOTA

    • Morton county increased the county rate by 0.5% 

      Cities with increases:
    • Bismarck by 0.5% 
    • Fargo by 0.25% 
    • Hillsboro by 0.5%
    • LaMoure by 1% 
    • Morton county increase rate by 0.5% 
    • Park River by 0.5% 

     

    OHIO

    The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) passed a permanent .5% (half of one percent) sales tax rate increase for all of Franklin County and those limited areas of Fairfield, Union, Licking, and Delaware Counties that fall within the COTA district.  Below are the new rates:

    • The sales and use tax rate for Delaware County's COTA District (96) will increase from 7.5% to 8.0% effective April 1, 2025. * Delaware County's non-COTA District (21) will remain at 7.0%.
    • The sales and use tax rate for Fairfield County's COTA District (93) will increase from 7.25% to 7.75% effective April 1, 2025. * Fairfield County's non-COTA District (23) will remain at 6.75%.

    The sales and use tax rate for Franklin County (25) will increase from 7.5% to 8.0% effective April 1, 2025. 

    • The sales and use tax rate for Licking County's COTA District (94) will increase from 7.75% to 8.25% effective April 1, 2025. * Licking County's non-COTA District (45) will remain at 7.25%.
    • The sales and use tax rate for Union County's COTA District (98) will increase from 7.5% to 8.0% effective April 1, 2025. * Union County's non-COTA District (80) will remain at 7.0%.

    OKLAHOMA

    • Foyil eliminated use tax 
    • Okeene increased sales and use to 5.25% 
    • Pond Creek increased sales and use to 4% 
    • Cotton County increased sales and use to 3%
    • Muskogee County increased sales and use to 1.499% 
    • Tillman County increased sales and use to 3%

    TEXAS

    • Josephine Municipal Development District (The Josephine Municipal Development District has the same boundaries as the portion of the city in Collin County, the unincorporated extraterritorial jurisdiction in Collin County and the unincorporated extraterritorial jurisdiction in Hunt County. The district does not include any area of the city in Hunt County. ) 5043571 0.5%
    • Williamson County Emergency Services District No. 8 (The Williamson County Emergency Services District No. 8 is located in the central portion of Williamson County. The unincorporated areas of Williamson County in ZIP Codes 78626, 78627, 78628, 78633, 78634 and 78641 are partially located within the Williamson County Emergency Services District No. 8. 5246656 2%
